Ohio Municipality Owes the IRS
According to the IRS, the Grove City municipality in Ohio owes more than $670,000 in unpaid payroll taxes. This amount represents withholding taxes from March 2007 to June 2010. According to the city officials, they have paid tax withholding for the fourth quarter of 2010 but they are not aware of how the outstanding amount came about. Due to that, they are going to initiate an investigation into this matter.
Grove City Mayor Richard Stage has put the municipality’s law director Stephen Smith in charge by of ensuring further payments are made to the IRS. Smith is also to ensure that all tax laws are adhered to from now on.
The municipality will work closely with the IRS agents to investigate the unpaid payments and have pledged to make up for the outstanding amount.
Val Kilmer Owes the IRS
According to DetNews.com, actor Val Kilmer owes the IRS nearly $500,000 and the agency has filed a lien for $498,165 against him in New Mexico on November 30 last year. Kilmer has put up a ranch there for sale.
In 2009, the IRS filed an earlier lien against Kilmer for $538,000 but the star has settled this debt already.
IRS woes have not hampered Kilmer’s acting career. The actor is busy with his latest movies, ‘5 Days of August’ and ‘Blood Out’. ‘Blood Out’ stars Kilmer and 50 Cent and will be released in April.
Trick Daddy Owes the IRS
Miami Rapper Trick Daddy is reported to owe the IRS more than $157,000 after a difficult year last year. The entertainer had his home foreclosed in May last year. In October a few months later, it was sold off. The Detroit News has reported that the IRS filed several liens against Trick and his wife last year. They came up to $85,366 for money earned from 2007-09, $16,709 for 2006, and $53,979 for unpaid income taxes owed in 2002.

Over the past year, the IRS has also filed liens against other popular musicians including Kelly Rowland, Doug E. Fresh, Swizz Beatz, Omarion, Nas and Wyclef Jean.
